  21. Description of Working Group:
  22.      The SNA DLC working group is chartered to define a set of managed
  23.      objects for the SDLC and LLC-2 data link controls for SNA
  24.      networks.  These objects will be the minimum necessary to provide
  25.      the ability to monitor and control those devices, providing fault,
  26.      configuration, and performance management, and will be consistent
  27.      with the SNMP framework and existing SNMP standards.

  29.      The working group will consider existing enterprise-specific MIB modules
  30.      that define objects which support management of these devices.  The
  31.      working group may choose to consider any work done by the IEEE in the
  32.      area of managed object definition for LLC-2.  It will also make sure
  33.      that its work is aligned with the SNA NAU Services MIB WG, due to the
  34.      close relationship between the devices being worked on by the two
  35.      groups.

  37.      The working group recognizes that managed objects for other SNA data
  38.      link controls and related components (e.g., QLLC, Syetem/370 Channel,
  39.      DLS (Data Link Switching) and ESCON) may need to be identified in the
  40.      future.  These objects are out of scope for the current charter;
  41.      however, once the working group completes its charter, a new charter
  42.      identifying some or all of these components may be considered.
